Introducing Tomatin 2005 Single Cask – UK Exclusive

We’ve been perfecting our craft with bourbon barrels since the 1930’s, which is why everyone at Tomatin Distillery is excited about the new release our limited-edition 2005 bourbon matured single cask whisky.

Just 240 bottles will be produced, and we’re pleased to announce that these limited-edition bottles will be exclusively available in the United Kingdom within specialist retailers.

You might be wondering what makes a single cask bourbon matured whisky special, and who better to explain it than our Blender and Global Brand Ambassador, Scott Adamson:

“As a bourbon barrel-only release, this expression presents whisky lovers with an opportunity to enjoy a single malt that is truly unique, and a style not found elsewhere in our core range. Most of our single casks are sherry, port or wine, showcasing our first-class maturation policy, but this ex-bourbon barrel whisky shines a spotlight on the tropical notes that develop in Tomatin over time.” 

So, what can you expect on the nose and palate? The whisky imparts aromas of crunchy green apples and lemon zest on the nose, with the whisky becoming sweeter with notes of Victoria sponge, buttercream and white chocolate and an underlying floral aroma throughout. On the palate, these fruity notes edge towards tropical, with malty, oak-driven flavours of brown sugar and light spice leading into a long, warming finish. 

We believe that a special whisky like this deserves an equally curated route to consumers, which is why we’ve chosen to release this exclusively to specialist wine and spirit merchants.
