We’re delighted to introduce Kurokabegura New Make Spirit – a highly limited early preview of Kurokabegura single malt Japanese whisky – to the UK and beyond.
Bottled at 63% ABV and presented in a slimline, premium glass decanter featuring Japanese brushwork calligraphy, known as shodo.
Previously only available in Japan, Kurokabegura New Make Spirit is now distributed globally via our website: BUY NOW.
“Why Tomatin?” we hear you ask…great question! Our owning company, Takara Shuzo, owns the Kurokabegura Distillery. They also owned the historic Shirakawa Distillery which is how we came to discover the last remaining parcel of Shirakawa 1958 back in 2022, thought to be the earliest known and rarest single vintage Japanese whisky ever bottled. The two distilleries are connected not only through this bond, but the legacy of Shirakawa lives on in the stills at Kurokabegura which were designed to mimic the original stills from Shirakawa.
While We Wait...
More and more whisky enthusiasts are purchasing new make spirit to compare and contrast with other distilleries. This spirit will surprise and delight in equal measure. The aroma is rich and sweet, with notes of raisins, banana and honey. On the palate, a deep and lingering maltiness invites you to return for more.
Kurokabegura New Make is now available to buy here, as well as in person at our Distillery Visitor Centre, priced at £34 per 20cl bottle.
