An Award-Winning Month for Tomatin Whisky

There are moments in the whisky calendar that invite reflection, and celebration.

This past month has been one of them.

Tomatin Highland Single Malt has been recognised at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2026 and the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2026, two of the world’s most respected spirits competitions, earning a Gold medal and multiple 90+ point scores.

Leading the way is Tomatin 10 Year Old, awarded Gold at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition with a score of 94- a prestigious, global benchmark where every spirit is judged entirely blind, placing the focus solely on character and craft.

It’s a result we’re immensely proud of, and one that speaks to the care, patience and people behind every cask.

What makes the Tomatin 10 Year Old an award-winning Scotch Whisky?

Approachable, soft and unmistakably Tomatin in style, our Tomatin 10 Year Old captures the signature character of the distillery.

This Gold medal reflects:

  • The balance we strive for in every expression
  • The gentle fruit, honeyed sweetness and soft spice that define our spirit
  • A whisky made to be enjoyed, shared and returned to

At Tomatin, we believe it’s impossible to hide a bad whisky in a bourbon barrel; our 10 year old is testament to this: it doesn’t need to shout, it’s simply a great, honest whisky.

Recognition Across the Range

Alongside this Gold win, Tomatin Double Cask Single Malt whisky also received recognition at SFWSC – Further highlighting the strength and consistency of our core range.

Each expression tells its own story, but all are shaped by the same philosophy: time, craft and a quiet confidence in what we do.

90+ Points at IWSC 2026

This commitment to quality has also been recognised at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2026, one of the world’s most respected blind tasting competitions, where a number of Tomatin expressions achieved 90+ point scores – a mark of spirits that demonstrate both balance and complexity.

Among the expressions awarded 90+ points:

Each score reflects the individuality of the whisky, while remaining true to Tomatin’s signature style.

These are not whiskies rushed to market. They are whisky made the Tomatin way: slowly, deliberately, allowing the natural spirit to shine through.

A Shared Commitment to Craft: Kurokabegura Japanese New Make Spirit

This spirit of craftsmanship extends beyond Scotland.

At Kurokabegura Distillery in Japan, owned by the same parent company as Tomatin, over a century of distilling expertise informs every drop. Recent award success continues to build momentum, reflecting a shared commitment to quality, precision and tradition.

While each distillery has its own identity, both are united by a belief in doing things properly, no matter where in the world we are. That commitment has been recognised on the global stage, with Kurokabegura New Make Spirit earning Gold at the 2026 Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition and Double Gold at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Raising a Dram

From a Gold medal in San Francisco to consistent 90+ point recognition at IWSC, this has been a month that reminds us why we do what we do.

Not for the awards themselves, but for what they represent.

A team of dedicated craftspeople. A spirit shaped by the Highlands. And whisky that speaks for itself.

Here’s to the journey, and to the drams still to come.
