With Cù Bòcan, pushing boundaries is never about novelty for its own sake. It’s about understanding flavour, respecting tradition, and exploring what’s possible when great spirit meets thoughtful experimentation. Creation #8 embodies that philosophy more clearly than ever before.
We’re known for pushing the boundaries of maturation with our Cù Bòcan Single Malt, and Creation #8 takes that approach even further. This release marks a genuine first in Scotch whisky: the first known peated single malt matured in Canadian ice wine casks, paired with vibrant Spanish Verdejo wine casks. The result is a whisky that is layered, expressive and quietly surprising – designed not just to impress, but to reward time and attention in the glass. Together, they create a whisky full of intrigue and balance, where fruit salad sweetness and bright lime zest intertwine with our signature earthy smoke, gently layered with soft oak spice.
Creation #8 is also the oldest release in the Creations series to date, showcasing how gently peated spirit can gain depth and elegance over extended maturation when partnered with the right wood.
What to expect in the glass..
Creation #8 is about balance and contrast – sweet and fresh, fruity and smoky, indulgent yet precise.
Nose
Sweet orchard fruit wrapped in gentle smoke. Baked apples, poached pears and apricot jam lead into golden raisins, candied peach and orange blossom. Honey syrup, citrus zest and a subtle herbal note sit alongside heather smoke, flamed lemon peel, almond pastry and light spice.
Palate
Silky and sweet at first, then brighter and fresher. Honeycomb, peach, apricot and candied citrus peel give way to pineapple syrup, marmalade and lime zest. Green grape, grassy notes and a soft, earthy wisp of smoke emerge through the fruit.
Finish
Lingering sweet wine and fruit fade slowly into smoky honey, citrus peel and gentle oak spice.
Presented with Purpose
Creation #8 follows the same visual identity as our last 2 Creations, #6 and #7. Creation #8 is presented in a striking electric purple and neon green colourway that reflects the whisky’s individuality and confidence.
