Warehouse 6 Exclusive: Bourbon 2007

At the heart of our distillery sits Warehouse 6, our traditional dunnage warehouse. Inside, our most treasured casks lie low on antique wooden rails above the cool earthen floor. This special place is at the core of Tomatin. Our Warehouse 6 Distillery Exclusives are all first-fill casks, bottled in 2024 at cask strength, and are only available to purchase from our Visitor Centre or website. You can take part in our Warehouse 6 Tasting Experience at Tomatin Distillery all year round.

This single malt Scotch whisky has been fully matured in a first-fill Bourbon hogshead. Following Prohibition in the USA, new regulations were introduced stating that all Bourbon must be matured in new oak barrels — a way to safeguard American coopers’ jobs during the Great Depression. As a result, ex-Bourbon casks are the most common type used to age whisky in Scotland.
