Celebrating our 125th Anniversary with Emily Hogarth

On 8th June 2022, we will celebrate 125 years of Tomatin Distillery (officially that is, of course we know whisky making here at Tomatin dates back to around the 15th century). To mark the occasion, we will have a couple of special releases and we also decided to give our longest standing whisky within our Core Range, the Tomatin 12 Year Old, a celebratory make over.

We approached Edinburgh-based illustrator and papercut artist, Emily Hogarth, to work with us on this special project. Through her motto ‘making the everyday magical’,  Emily captures the magic of Scotland in her artworks, weaving stories and tales in an impressively intricate manner. Much like making whisky, the art process is delicate and slow, and we were delighted to see her tell our story in papercut form.

The wreath design developed by Emily encapsulates everything that Tomatin represents; the ingredients we use, our local environment, the local railway, the houses on site, the many types of casks we use and of course the precious golden whisky which brings it all together.

Our special limited edition carton will be on shelves while stocks last throughout 2022, have you spotted one yet? Watch our feature film with Emily telling more about the design process and working with Tomatin, and who she would like to raise a toast to what matters with.

Emily is a Scottish designer and illustrator living and working in Edinburgh with her husband, their daughter Maggie, sons Finn and Rupert and their West Highland Terrier Mary.
