We are delighted to announce that we have been recognised by one of the world’s leading drinks awards, International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) – the industry’s global benchmark for quality. We have been awarded not one, but two major accolades, ‘Scotch Whisky Producer of the Year 2022’ and ‘Outstanding Spirits Producer of the Year 2022’. This adds to our long list of international awards. The double-win signals the brand’s continued global success and growth.
Stephen Bremner, Managing Director of Tomatin Distillery, commented, “Despite the export challenges over recent years, we have experienced incredible growth across Tomatin’s whisky portfolio here in the UK and beyond – and this really is a fantastic moment for us to take-stock and celebrate just how far we’ve come.
“We have worked incredibly hard on our product range over the years; and we continue to commit ourselves to crafting the very best tasting Highland whisky, so it’s brilliant to be recognised in this way by IWSC”.
Earlier this year, we received a clutch of product awards from the IWSC including both Legacy and Warehouse 6 Collection, 1976 being awarded a trophy for its category, and the flagship Tomatin 12 Year Old receiving an excellent 95 out of 100 points.
The whiskies we put forward were described by IWSC judges as “nothing short of sensational”. Judges, including Billy Abbott and Dawn Davies, described the 99-point Legacy Single Malt as “Fragrant and complex, with a harmonious, lingering finish.” They found the trophy winner Warehouse 6 Collection, 1976 Single Malt to be “Seductively round, with delicious aromas of rich linseed and sweet honey, and ripe tropical fruit notes on the palate.”
We are dedicated to protecting our craft, environment and particularly our community, which is at the very heart of our brand. Many of the craftspeople working on site have been doing so their entire working lives – all working towards producing a wide range of single malts, loved across the world.
